Like a slow, painful death. An evening at the Left Bank was dull, distasteful, disjointed and utterly painful. First of all, the decor is like being in someones Grandmother's basement- poorly decorated basement at that. The wait staff seems annoyed at the customers' existence, as though they can't be bothered to deal with their clientele. The food is somewhat good; however, it lacks continuity. Every dish was served with a side of white rice- like a Chinese restaurant. I ordered a soup and it came with a side of white rice on a pitiul doily that reminded me of an elementary craft project.

Unless you enjoy medicore food, miserable service and some really nasty decor, stop somewhere else for dinner.

A big let down. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a meal somewhere else in Vail.

The service at The Left Bank has to be witnessed to be believed (that is if you want to get rid of over $100 per person to be looked down on).

Fairly decent food is totally overshadowed by inefficient and rude service. Until there is a management and staff overhaul I suggest not upsetting yourself and instead have a lovely time in pretty much anywhere in Vail apart from here.

This French eatery tucked away in Vail's Sitzmark Hotel specializes in fine dining and an intimate atmosphere.. In Short
Tiny details create a distinct European aura. Delicate flowers are painted on a glass-enclosed wine rack. An indoor "awning" covers a row of cozy booths, and antique wall sconces emit a warm glow. Imaginative presentation and fresh ingredients define the French fare here. Starters include puff pastry stuffed with asparagus, shrimp and lobster. The duck and beef entrees are typical of France and spiced with peppercorn. Ultrarich-but-worth-it desserts include chocolate souffle.
