A 1915 hand-hewn log home and a new timber frame River Lodge on the banks of the Eagle River..
The Scene
This two-property inn features one of the oldest buildings in the small, Old West town of Minturn. The town is tucked between the swanky ski resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek, and guests who stay here are seeking an authentic, pre-ski era mountain experience.
The Details
The nine original rooms in the log lodge are uniquely themed and decorated. The 10th Mountain and Camp Hale rooms are appointed with antique skis and snowshoes, while the Angler is decorated with vintage fly fishing gear. All lodge guest rooms have custom-made log beds; rooms in the newer River Lodge also have custom beds (some log, some iron), and offer an authentic western feel with their antique quilts, wood floors, timber frame ceilings, antler chandeliers and huge river rock fireplaces. A hearty breakfast and après-ski (or, in summer, après-hike) snacks are served daily.
