Never again!. Last Visit:February 2007Never again! Bad service. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that are very good. My wife and I had a reservation for 7:45PM on February 24th and arrived early to have a drink at the bar. At 7:45 the hostess approached us and offered us a choice of a table by the bar or a table in the dining room that would be available "in five minutes when it is cleared." We opted to wait and have the table in the dining room. Instead in ten minutes the manager approached us and said our table was ready "upstairs." When we stated we were waiting for the table the hostess indicated he said it was not available and the other table in the bar area was also taken. Instead he brought us up stairs to sit amoung several tables of children, many of which were crying, yelling and carrying on. It was clearly an area they put young children so they would not disturb adult customers. When we indicated that was unacceptable the manager told us he could not do anything. We left and went next door to a Thai restaurant where we obtained good service. I would never go back to Vista again!

One of the best in Avon. My husband and I visited Bachelor Gulch and was recommended by the hotel to eat at Vista. Wow, what a great advice because Vista was great. The service was awesome and our waiter was friendly. The food was delicious. I had the steak cooked to perfection and my husband had the trout which he enjoyed as well. We were there this past week during the off season so all the dishes were $12 except the steak and lobster pot pie, which was $15. But we would have paid the full price because it was well worth it.

User review by lkjonestx. This is, far and away, our favorite restaurant in Vail. Menu continues to change and evolve. While proprietor Michael Glennon is most definitely an accomplished (and recognized) chef, and the entrees are very creative, they are yet not "too cheffy," which can become tiresome in the valley. Attentive staff, which seems to have little turnover - definitely a good sign. Michael's seared tuna is deservedly the star of the kitchen, but don't overlook any of the entrees, particularly the barbecue chicken with the "kick ass" barbecue sauce. Excellent, reasonably-priced (and awarded) wine list. You owe it to yourself to try "Wine on Wednesday" during the summer. Gee, writing this review, I may drive back to Colorado.....

Worth a visit. This restaurant is unpretentious and the wait staff and friendly and know their menu well.

Fast service, great value and good sized portions, even the wines were good and well priced.
