Outstanding food - 1st class service. We usually try to get up to Splendido once or twice when we're in Vail and this last dinner was beautiful. The seafood plater was awe inspiring. I had the Dover Sole which was delicious. My only complaint with Splendido is the prices. It's like they gouge you on purpose. As I said, we usually only go once or twice a year just because of the cost. They're prices are so far and above everyone else (except maybe Spago) that I walk away from a great dinner feeling a little cheated. If you have the money to spend - try this restaurant at least once - then make repeated reservations at Sweet Basil or Vista during your stay. They will not dissapoint.
Really poor customer service. We arrived on time and were asked to wait in the bar as our table would not be ready for 2 minutes. We waited fully half an hour before anyone bothered with us again. No-one offered us a drink (free or otherwise). No-one told us what was happening. No-one apologised. Appalling. The maitre d snapped when one of us (politely) asked for directions to the restroom. The waiting staff were surly. The food was good but not good enough to put up with this kind of service. Don't go there.
User review by d_johnson1. This is simply THE best place to dine in the Vail Valley!! The moment you walk into Splendido you know you're in for a special evening. The entire staff is warm, professional, and personable. The wine list is huge and the sommelier couldn't have been more knowledgeable and helpful in finding us the perfect bottle of wine to go with our dinner. The food is outstanding! It is worth every penny you spend! After dinner we sat in the piano bar enjoying dessert and port. One of the best nights we ever spent in the Vail Valley!!
Exceptional. From the moment you enter Splendido you know you're in for an exquisite evening. The decor, the view, the service and the marvelous food. A little expensive but worth every bit of it. While sipping your wine from the award winning wine list to the delicious desserts, and all the appetizers and entrees in between, you are sure you're in New York instead of beautiful Beaver Creek. We enjoyed our dessert and cappacino in the piano bar to make our evening complete. A restaurant you shouldn't miss while in the Vail area.
